Defend Rojava: Film, Food, and Fundraising (Brighton)

The Rojava revolution is still facing attacks from fascist jihadist forces. Join us at 6pm on Thursday 12th February at Elm Grove Cafe (89 Elm Grove BN2 3ET) to watch a short film, share food, and discuss what we can do to defend the revolution.
Film: Berxwedan Jiyane: The Resistance of Tishreen — Tishreen Dam in North-East Syria supplies water to the entire region. In January 2025, it was attacked in order to break the resistance of the people who, since 2012, have built a revolution in the region (also known as Rojava) based on women’s liberation, grassroots democracy, and ecology. The people together defended the dam.
This will be a fundraiser for the Kurdish Red Crescent, who are providing medical support to the thousands of internally displaced people in Rojava right now.
