Learn about the revolutionary ideas of the Kurdistan Freedom Movement

How to build a revolutionary social movement: Learning from the Rojava Revolution

A weekend residential course on the revolutionary ideology of the Kurdistan Freedom Movement – July 2023

Register your interest in attending the course here

Kurdistan Solidarity Network is running a course about the ideology and practices of the Rojava Revolution and the wider Kurdistan Freedom Movement, looking at what we can learn from one of the most inspirational and powerful social movements of our time. The sessions will be given by organisers based here who work closely with the Kurdistan Freedom Movement, and will translate key ideas and approaches of the Movement to our context. Together we’ll get nerdy about ideology, but also look at practical ways we can apply ideas to our organising here.

Dates: 28th – 30th July 2023
Arrival on the evening of the 28th, sessions Saturday and Sunday, departure Sunday early evening

Location: South Yorkshire
Easily accessible by public transport

Accommodation will be mostly either camping or matts/sleeping bags in shared space, but let us know if you have additional needs or requests around accommodation and we will figure it out.

If childcare would enable you to come, please get in touch as soon as possible to discuss ways we might support with this, as we are really keen for parents to be able to attend.

Note: We are currently running an online course that covers the same material as this residential. Although individuals currently participating in the online course are welcome to register interest in attending the in person residential, priority will be given to individuals who are not on the online course.

Please register interest by the end of April!
We would love to have everyone who is interested in coming, but unfortunately we have limited spaces available on this course, and we will let you know by mid-May whether we are able to offer you a place.

There will be an additional residential course later in the year that expands on the core topics for people who have participated in the intro sessions and want to go deeper.

If you have any questions, give us a shout: ksneducation@protonmail.com.

We won’t be charging for either the online or residential sessions because we think revolutionary political ideology should be accessible for everyone. However, we would ask those who are able to give to donate via this crowdfunder to cover the costs of running this course.
